· NewDate v2.00 is a replacement/enhancement date command for your Amiga.
· NewDate was originally written to replace the standard Commodore date
command, as the original version had no way of removing the time from
the date command. Although Allan Odgaard from Denmark pointed out
a clever little way of doing this using the Arexx RX command.
· Anyway, we were not interested in the system time. We would write a
program called NewTime if we were that keen. (Hmmmm) :)
· There are two main files, 'NewDate2' and 'NewDate.data' both of which
must reside in your Sys:c/ drawer on your Workbench disk/partition.
Well they don't have to, but it's a good place to keep them there!
· NewDate now allows you to display the system date in a variety of
formats. All of which are detailed elsewhere.
· NewDate allows you to translate days and months into other langauges,
e.g. Sabado 9-Marzo-1996 = Saturday 9-March-1996.
· There are also little tips on how you can use NewDate.
· We feel that NewDate v2.00 has now evolved into one of the best date
commands on the Aminet. We hope you think so too.
